Subdivisional Modelling in Alias

Autodesk Alias Studio introduce the awesome Subdivisional Modelling facility in v2020 - 2021.

Many students ask me why do we need to learn it?
Quite simply in an Industry where time is money Designers are waiting too long to get their ideations, created in a 3D form, weather in Clay or a Digital Model. It can take several weeks for a great ideation to be turned into an Alias Concept model or a Clay Model. The Designer needs his/her ideation to present to the guys in suits , who don't understand sketches and to make
big decisions on budgeting for new projects, they insist on seeing a 3D model.

This is where SubD fits in, as it allows an experienced modeller to create a complete vehicle exterior in Poly model form, in around 2 days. This has zero engineering value, its sole function is to show the guys in suits, what they are being asked to invest in.

The awesome thing about SubD in Alias, is that as you create the low poly cage model, Alias instantaneously is creating a nurbs version as well. When you apply the paint shader Alias turns the raw poly cage into a beautiful realistic paint shade model, which is superb for Budget Approval Presentations.

How will learning SubD help me?
As there are currently very few experience modellers who have had time to learn SubD and get quick at using it, if you have this skill, it will really appeal to recruiters on your CV and in your portfolio and will help you land a job and progress quickly. As everytime a quick Design Approval Model is required in a hurry, your name will come up. For this reason learning to model in SubD will boost your ability to land a job and accelerate your advancement once you have a studio job.

The stand alone module is on offer currently at 199 GBP. If you decide instead to opt for the Elite Full Pro course at 105 GBP per month SubD is included in this package.
